Gisborne Garagiste is being served at the stunning Zanzibar in Dunedin

Zanzibar in Dunedin is predominately a gin bar with over 100 gins that can be tasted. They have just started to serve Gisborne Garagiste Chardonnay, Gewurtztraminer and Viognier. I do recommend a visit if you are in Dunedin.

Over the winter have had the cool blue colours but the Borage has kept the bees happy

Food and wine matches- here's what we recommend as delivered whilst hosting the Judges at the Gisborne Regional Wine Awards
A good hearty pork and chicken Terrine to go with the Viognier and Gewurztraminer -does  it work - both rich wines so need a depth of flavour to balance  the dish , both wines slightly savoury and dry/off dry, works on the richness of the wine.  

 Tuna Tartare - acidity from the grapefruit base, richness and savoury flavours from the Tuna , a dollop of sour cream- works so perfectly with Chardonnay

To finish a Venison Carpaccio served with the Garagiste St Laurent and Cabernet Merlot Malbec .  What's not to like with the savoury gamey flavours. The tannins in the wines are matched with the meat leaving  sweet,

succulent fruit flavours that linger in the mouth. Again would really like to thank Ingrid Walsh for the preparation of these dishes.
